About Us

At the Law Office of Penelope J. Blizzard-McGrath, our mission is to provide professional legal services to each client while maintaining the trust and compassion family law litigants need and deserve. 

About the Founder

Penelope ("Penni") Blizzard-McGrath founded the firm upon her admission to the New York State bar. Ms. Blizzard-McGrath's devotion to family law started over 20 years ago, when she started her legal career as a matrimonial paralegal. Being in the legal field for over 20 years enables Ms. Blizzard-McGrath to more fully understand each component of a case as an attorney. 

Whether being compassionate and patient during an emotionally difficult time in a client's life, investigating factual inconsistencies, gathering various intricate financial information, or providing gentle guidance to a client facing life altering decisions regarding children, Ms. Blizzard-McGrath promises to give her professional best to each client she represents.

To extend her commitment to family law, Ms. Blizzard-McGrath is currently a member of the Modest Means Panel at the Suffolk County Bar Association where she represents low income clients at significantly reduced rates.  She participates in pro bono legal services via Nassau Suffolk Law Services.  She is also currently a member of the Family Law Committee of both the American and New York State Bar Associations.  Penni participates in many continuing legal education courses, far surpassing New York's requirements for attorneys.

In 2015, Ms. Blizzard-McGrath received a pro bono award from the Suffolk County Bar Association for her dedication to volunteering her time toward the indigent.  Ms. Blizzard-McGrath also received the 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award from Briarcliffe College where she graduated over 20 years ago.  Also in 2015, Ms. Blizzard-McGrath was awarded the 2015 New York Metro Rising Star Award by SuperLawyers,

Ms. Blizzard-McGrath is very active in her community.  In 2015, Ms. Blizzard-McGrath was elected to the Longwood School District Board of Education.  She is also a member of the Central Brookhaven Lions Club and the Ridge Civic Association.  She resides in Ridge, New York, with her husband and teenage son.
